Have about $800 to spend on new wheels

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got the parts in for the wheels and dropped them off to have them built. Should hopefully be riding them by the weekend.

The shop I dropped them off at had some NOS SRAM Red cranks. I got them for $250 installed. So new wheels and cranks and am still $300 under budget.

How much is it costing you to have them built, if you don't mind my asking? I went the build your own route, but am wondering if it would be a better use of my money/time in the future just to have them built for me.

Btw I'm thinking of buying parts for another wheel to build it myself just to learn how.

Picked the wheels up yesterday. They look nice. I won't have a chance to ride them until tomorrow though. Between them and the new cranks the bike dropped a hair over 2 pounds.
