OR.... we could try that new form of punishment exercise.... by a jury of peers. Kind'a new.... only been in use for a couple hundred years or so. A blink of an eye in historic terms. Yeah... that would be my choice one of those two.

OK... I see now why you suspect others might not be direct. You don't get to the point so you think others won't ether.
The point is.... this punish/reform idea is historically pretty new. And if you study it just a little you soon learn no one has learned to make it work. What has become accepted practices.... DO NOT WORK!
So if we make killing a cyclist a death sentence... cyclist will NOT be safer... and your car driving children and parents become just slightly more likely to receive a death sentence. That's what I call lose, lose.

Could easily happen to any of us...
That stupid (word that rhymes with runt) should never be allowed to drive a car again and spend a generous amount of time in jail.
Its not hard, when your driving a car put your damn cell phone down and pay attention!

I was an adult for every one of those years... and many before 1982. There was a LOT of things that happened and changed. You just trying to only credit punishment when I can assure you.... no study has. That is a simple minded argument... well below any public standard.

You're making this needlessly difficult by not answering a straightforward question. I don't think it can be much clearer than this, but if you had to hand down a punishment for someone who killed another human being while texting behind the wheel or drunk driving, what would that punishment be?
