Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm thinking about putting Campy on my broken / to-be repaired black Guru to try it out.

We each had a short stack of pancakes

and we split a Chorizo Fiesta omelet

I only ate about half of my stack of pancakes. I kind of like IHOP's New York Cheesecake ones but I'm not a huge fan of pancakes other than the Dutch variety you make in a cast iron pan in the oven and eat with lemon and maybe powdered sugar. My dad used to guilt me into eating pancakes by saying "Someday, I'll be gone and you'll say 'I wish my dear old dad was here to make me some pancakes. I sure miss him'." He was half right. Three years later, I've missed my dad a bunch and I do think he and LoP would have gotten along swell. But I don't miss eating guilt-cakes.

LoP left out one detail: As we were getting ready to leave for the IHOP, he was practically lying on the couch. I said, "Are you just hungry?" He said, "That and my neck still hurts." I said, "Did you take some Tylenol for it?" He said, "I did better than that. I took a Vicodin." I said, "When did you do that?" He said, "Just now." I said, "Oh my God!" He said, "It's okay though. I've driven a car before on Vicodin." I said, "Yeah? Me too." I asked my daughter what she thought and she said if it was her, she wouldn't go, but I figured "What the hell? It's only one and I'll keep a good eye on him." Besides, it gave the trip a very mild Hunter S. Thompson appeal. And everything turned out fine.

I dunno. She could make some wicked blintzes. We ate 'em with sour cream and blackberry jam. Oh man, they were good.

Truth be known, she taught my wife to make 'em just as good. But do you think I ever get any? Nada. Zilch. Zippety-doo-dah. Damn!

Why does nearly everyone think ideal tire pressure is the "max" written on the sidewall??

See my comment in that thread. I thought he was alien254 instead of allen254. That was scary.

That stuff is really pretty bland. One is like silly. Since that viral syndrome I had, I am a big fan of Tramadol. Only when indicated, of course.

Careful. One of the guys at the bike shop put Campy on one of his bikes to "try it out". Now, he wants to sell his Di2 bike and go Full Campy.
