I just bought a $600 kit, should I hang back on next club ride...

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How about $600 worth of kit and an e-bike? That would be awesome!

Only $600? You should do the poor cyclist's club ride.

Personally, I'd wear tennis shoes or sandals with the kit and then drope the hamer.

Drope the hamer....but only if you are riding a shiny, new $5,000 bike.

People wear what they can affored or feel contfortable spending money on.

I've seen fast people wearing exepensive gear, and fast people weearing whatever. Also seen slow people wearing whatever, and expensive gear.

Not sure why people get wolrked up over newbies wearing nice gear or riding expensive bikes. Maybe a little jealousy

I'm not worked up, if I thought a $4k bike would make me a better rider, I'd buy one today. For that kind of dough, couldn't they get a professional fit and ride in the right group to start with? Guess not....

I only put my Enve smart series 6.7 wheels on when i ride the MUT. I use the buzz on the ck hubs to let wandering walkers know I am behind them.

Fool. Forget the club ride. Just cruise up and down the main bike track/MUP in town and impress the locals with your sartorial splendor.

I don't know why people spend so much on cycling clothes, I wouldn't recognize a $600 kit from a $200 kit. Quite frankly, I really don't give a crap because I'm there to ride.

You could have a 13" beard and be wearing cutoff jeans as long as you keep the pace.

Nope. That's not it.

Me thinks you are missing the point of a parody thread.
