Swimming doesn't help much with weight control. Some people even have their fat increase slightly with 5,000 meters weekly.

I would think speed skating, but rowing has been extremely beneficial to me. I bought a Concept 2 indoor rower two years ago and it's dramatically improved my cycling.

Cyclists need to weight bearing exercises. Weight bearing means standing on your feet.
This is not my personal opinion but consistently recommended by the medical community.
All sitting and no standing leads to lower bone mass and weaker bones. Perspiration also leaches minerals from the body including lots of calcium loss. The last thing you want is to crash with weak bones.
Weight training, running, playing basketball, some have mentioned cross country skiing and kickboxing and they are 100% correct. Even walking a couple of miles 3x/week has a huge benefit.
I lift weights and do salsa dancing. My dance instructor is Allen Germain in the video below. Those of you who watch it will understand that exercise is only one of salsa dancing's many benefits.

Any type of resistance training. Nobody wants a skinny-fat cyclist body.

Same. Just got it a couple months ago, but is certainly helped. Plus it is a cure for the cyclist upper body!

Not sure. Never figured it out. I swim for about 45 minutes. Normally I work on intervals to gain speed versus just lap after lap of slower swimming. I focus on freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and perform kick drills. I swim limited butterfly because of pressure it puts on my back...a very rigorous stroke and the dolphin kick sometimes stresses my hamstrings.
I grew up as a little kid swimming competitively and then went for decades without out or limited swimming. Since swimming every day, my whole body has changed. To me swimming and biking combo is the fountain of youth. Tri guys really have the best bodies in my opinion. I don't run or don't to prevent injury which I seem prone to if running any moderate distance. Don't have this issue in the water or on the bike however.

Step one: lay down on your back with your legs in the air.
Step two: balance your five year old on your feet and raise and lower him untill HE wants to stop.
Step three: realize he never wants to stop, but eventually stop anyway.
(If you have a 10 or 15 year old, even better!)
