Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Chinese companies won't stop making them like this

TW R100 Jr 52 cm 700c Shimano 21 Gears Road Bike Bicycle Mechanical Disc Brakes | eBay This might be on par with some I have seen earlier in the year...no comment

Edit: I don't mean that all chinese bicycle companies are bad, there are just a few prime examples that made me chuckle a bit

I don't see what your problem is. It's got disc brakes, says "CARBON" on the frame, and it even comes with a kickstand. Pound for pound, that's got to be the best deal going!

Someone needs to point to them out that photos of a bike with the front on the small ring is not hot.

Wow!! Totally worth the price of the white one just for the Zipp 404's! You could throw the rest of the bike away. Wait a minute...

Does anyone actually buy these? What would the bike actually look like if you did? And what's with the "carbon steel" description when the photos clearly show carbon fiber?

I think LBS's should buy these and put on floor display with a sign -- "Beware of Internet Shopping!"

Its hideous and yet strangely beautiful.

36 spoke deep rims? All the disadvantages of deep rim (weight) with none of the advantages (aero).

I can't... stop... staring...

If I had the money lying around, I would almost want to buy one. I would probably take it to a location to see if the stupid bike thieves would even touch it.

Come now, it isn't that bad.
Rockefeller was the king of steel!!!

I do find it somewhat offensive that they're taking well known US names and slapping them on their bikes.

Perhaps you should buy the Machete instead.

Anybody ride on the hoods?

You don't weld carbon fiber.

From wikipedia: Carbon steel is steel in which the main interstitial alloying constituent is carbon in the range of 0.12–2.0%.

Compared to something like chromoly which is more common for steel bikes. Or manganese-molybdenum alloy steel used in the popular (at the time) Reynolds 531 tubing.

Carbon steel isn't something to brag about for bike frames unless your customers just read the "carbon" and associate it with carbon fiber.
