Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

pretty sure im gonna go with the emonda, lifetime warranty is convincing. my only beef now is the paint, so boring on the framesets. wonder if i can convince someone to get me one of the more colorful ones that are on the completes, since im pretty certain painting it would void the warranty

related: campy announced direct mount brakes today, so now the slr is a possibility. oh boy.

I just had a horrible vision of a combined disc/granny gear where the caliper mounts on the inside of the disc with teeth on the outside. *shudder*

Wow, that's bad. My daily problem is stiffness. I can't take a car ride for 5 mins without getting out stiff and walking like an 80 year old.

When we went camping last month I had to sit for a 5 hour car drive there and back. I could barely move when we would stop for a break.

I am confused about the tandem's disc brake, I thought the disc belongs on the front not the rear. Am I missing something??

Well, this month is my birthday, and I've got one of these on the way to build up with the parts from my CAADX commuter that I crashed like a year and a half ago. I've always wanted a pink bike...

That's a pretty good deal!

Have you tried putting fat tires on the back wheel? Or just have an idea of clearance for fatties on that? Sure would be nice to have a bike that fits 40mm MSOs.

Then I'd have to brainwash the little lady into actually enjoying gravel. For some reason she just hates the sound of gravel under the tyres.

Maybe I need to record a long gravel audio loop and play that as we go to sleep... better than white noise!

In my youth, when I worked at the shop where I got my Lotus Prestige, my best friend built up a pink Lotus Supreme. That was a gorgeous bike. It is a shame that pink is such a slow color, or I think we would see more of them.

Rear brakes are almost infinitely more effective on a tandem than they are on a single.

With a big ol' rotor like that you could probably drag brake quite a bit before overheating and fading.

One of the guys at the bike shop has this frame.

He finished it with pink bartape and saddle.
