Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Saddle feels fine on hoods not so well on aero bar or drops

I feel great when on the hoods, could ride (and have rode) 50 miles with no pains in legs, butt or crotch area.

How-ever when in the drops or even worse on my aero bars the old weaner has no where to go but up so there is a bit of pressure down there.

Any suggestions on what type of saddle to buy or other remedies?

If I slide forward when on the aero bars the pain gets alleviated but then I feel quite crowded.

The saddle should mount on a seatpost that extends from the seat tube. Putting your saddle anywhere in the vicinity of the handlebars is bound to be uncomfortable.

You need to drop the nose of your saddle a few mm's. Just a bit and try it - small adjustments until it's right for each position, hoods and drops. Don't drop it too far or you will transfer weight to your arms and hands and they will ache.

Unless you have your head up your a$$, then it works quite well.
