Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was aware of that. BTW, in bad ol' days when the Commies were in the saddle in the Soviet Union, the vodka bottles came with a thick foil top that couldn't be put back on. I can't say I ever was in a situation where people felt a need to put a cap back on a vodka bottle. Getting more was an entirely different matter...

My basketball coach used to set puke buckets up around the gym during conditioning. His goal was to make everybody puke at least once. That was a long time ago. Most trainers now will tell you most exercise induced vomiting is a sign of dehydration not over exertion. I can't drink plain water on hard training rides or it will upset my stomach. It has to have something in it - nuun or Hammer Heed usually. Even a couple of drops of Mio or something. Can't do straight Gatorade either though - too sweet.

There is a doughnut run here in town. Run a mile or so, then eat a dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Then run back.

I've not done this run nor have I witnessed it but they apparently have lots of trashcans strategically located just in case.

As for puking (and I can't believe I just read an entire thread about puking) I have gotten nauseous once at the start of my ride going uphill after eating to quickly before hand, but I have not joined the puking club as of yet. I really kinda hope I don't either.
