My girlfriend and I just spent a week in the Methow Valley, got home last night. We did a lot of hiking and I got to enjoy a few rides.
I did Washington Pass on Monday, 17 miles (each way) and 3,500 feet gain from the valley floor to the top. Unfortunately I forgot my camera for that one. Tuesday I did Cutthroat Pass on a rented mountain bike, 5.5 miles (each way) and 2,300 feet of vertical. We timed the trip to see the alpine larches turn, I've done plenty of larch hikes but these were my first larch rides.
You can see Cutthroat Lake in the first and last picture; a year ago Beth and I hiked up there carrying our tent and sleeping bags and spent the night. It was incredible to ride up to the ridge and look down on an alpine lake I've backpacked to.
Really wish I had pics from Washington Pass to share.
