I like to say I am a solid 2000 mile a year cyclist (at 1903 so far for 2015). 2K is my goal. I also like to do a yearly metric century.

I am riding Northern tier charity ride from Bar Harbor to Seattle next year so my goals are related to being ready for that. Lose 20 more pounds (already lost 21). Ride 200+ miles per week for endurance. Increase my speed so I can hang with the fast bunch during my group rides. (this to make up for the lack of hills where I live)

Midway through 2016, head to Japan and spend a year exploring the whole country on a Gunnar Crosshairs. Goal = spread the love coast to coast.
Short term goal= 160km hilly race in NZ at the end of November.
Long term goal= Ride every damn day all damn year for the rest of my life.

Short term - Stay vertical
Long term - Stay vertical
Oh yeah.. Ride every chance I get.
And get one of these so that I could start commuting to work.. I guess I can do it on my present bike, but what fun would that be...

When it comes to achieving things, I'm generally more impulsive than goal-oriented. What gets me out the door and on the bike in the morning is the simple idea that it's what I do. I don't think too much about what I'll get out of it beforehand, but I do try to enjoy and get something out of every ride. I don't ride every day, but if I can't get three rides in over the course of a week, it bothers me.

I'd like to get to riding 100 miles a week. But right now the issue is time, not ability. I really can't seem to find 6-7 hours a week to ride. It's crazy. After that I want to do a century, then the Boston to NY AIDS ride (A dear friend of mine died of AIDS a couple of years ago.) And after *that* I want to do the Vermont 100/200 double century.
Then I can keel over and die happy. Preferably at the border of VT and MA after finishing the 100/200.

I want to get back to 225 pounds where I was in 1997 (I am 360 now down from 400 pounds). I want to be able to ride a half century for the Tour de Cure in Spokane, WA in 2016 ( I did the 25 mile route this year).

Try to get 15,000 miles for this year, so far 14,000 miles and twenty centuries. Keep both bikes and learn to do more repairs and tuning.

My goal is to get/be in shape, and then participate in a local training race cat 4/5 to get my feet wet in the racing scene. I'd like to be able to keep up and finish with the most of the other racers.
I understand there's more to racing than "going fast", so I want to be able to learn some finer points in racing/group riding before I even think about winning.
I'm 52 years old - so this level of cycling (as opposed to just knocking around the neighborhood) is new to me, and I'm loving it! By "this level", I mean that I get out on the road and get a good workout - not just cruising around.
