Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Took a leisurely spin around Cazenovistan Lake (for @Velo Vol, wherever he is...) today. Too lazy to swap the GP4K back onto the rear. Turns out you can totally tell the difference between $75 tires and $15 tires. #whoknew

...speaking of which, I just revisited the low FLOP thread (still barely alive, even if on life support now ). I have used it in bettering my understanding of why, no matter how strange the beliefs that are put forth by a cult leader, he will always be guaranteed at least a small number of followers. Looking forward to attending services at the local branch of the Church of FLOP in the near future.

...I will be disappointed if I do not see a thread entitled, "$75 dollar tyres and $15 tyres, can you really tell the difference ?"

I dunno, I think going fast on 23 mm tires wearing spandex and a styrofoam hat amongst 5000lb+ vehicles has its place on that list.

Tennis is most stupidest. It combines running with whacking a ball with a stick.

Swimming is least stupid because on a hot summer day at least it will cool you down.

That's because you should be using 25mm tires. Much less stupid.

I'm betting a Thing is a rarer sight in those parts than a Ferrari.

We did see a Ferrari just like that one on the morning ride today. May have been the same one, but I'm thinking it was a different shade of red. We saw zero Things.
