Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nah, that's on the opposite side of the room. That reminds me, though - my dad saw my fb posts on my audio rack project and let me vulture through his dusty vinyl collection on Thanksgiving. Took about 40-50 records off his hands, mostly classic rock with some 80's stuff mixed in; I had no idea that he was (seemingly) such a big Moody Blues fan...

Oh, also: a recently-shuttered record shop just reopened on "Eat Street," a 4 or 5 block stretch that houses a dozen great eateries along with my favorite doughnut shoppe. I can already imagine a morning to myself: stopping for coffee and doughnut(s), flipping through vinyl for a couple hours and then sitting down for a lunch of bahn mi, or pho, or tacos, or Jamaican beef patties, or spaetzle, etc, etc before heading back home.
I think you mean before waddling home.

Because of the weight of the records that I'll be carrying? You're probably right.

The spare water bottle is for Benson. She hasn't figured out how to use the bite valve.

I was surprised at the concert the Moody Blues put on. I have to rank it in the top half of the concerts I've seen. Maybe it's because it's one of the ones I remember.

I was able to sneak in a hilly ride this afternoon. Roughly 48 miles and 4200 feet of altitude. Way fun!

Had to dig the booties and balaclava out today. 36°F, NE winds and occasional spitting ice. Only did 26 miles but did climb a couple hills.

For the first time in... well, a long time, maybe as much as a decade, I bought a winter jacket. I don't think that I've worn a winter jacket in a good 6+ years.
