Your first Road Cycling post?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your first Road Cycling post?

This forum seems to love going back and recalling old threads of yesteryear so maybe this topic will find some traction. I'm certainly curious to see some others' first posts (but not so much that I'm going to dig them up on my own).

Anyway, here's my first ever post trying to figure out what shoes to buy AFTER I bought some SPD-SL pedals: https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...pd-r600-s.html

Here's a later post where I share some 'insightful' things about riding in the 'cold': https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...t-tonight.html

I certainly did learn a lot during that first full year of road cycling, and this forum and the mechanics forum definitely helped me out. So much so that I believe I even threw a little money to the then-owners of the site and got that little star next to my name.

So who else wants to share their first, and/or slightly embarassing, posts from their early days of cycling or this forum (for those dinosaurs who pre-date the internet )?

My first post was back when people used to talk about frame pumps.

My first post was in a thread by a guy looking for a Steelers cycling jersey.

He claimed that he bleeds black and gold, so I suggested we cut him open to prove it.

My first post probably doesn't exist anymore.

There was a forum server change back in ... oh, guessing 2006 maybe ... and a lot of the oldest posts were lost in that time.

This is the oldest one left from those days that I can find ... but there would have been two years worth before that.

No need to look back. My posts today are as dumb as they were then.

This was mine: https://www.bikeforums.net/general-cy...iant-ocr3.html

Looking for info on buying the first bike, ended up getting another one instead of the Giant OCR3. It was kinda beaten up. Got a triandrun (lol) bike, which fitted me better.: https://i.imgur.com/nUhqoLe.jpg

Did over 2500 Km on it, returned it to the LBS and traded it for a Sensa Romagna special:https://i.imgur.com/PHrFOlz.jpg

I've ridden it for 1700km and still going strong. But, now I have a craving for a carbon bike with some lightweight wheels. lol Probably trade this one next year.

My first post was a picture of my bike in the Hot R Not. That was a mistake.

My first post in the Road Cycling forum was about an annoyance I had with the Edge 500.
