Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shimano Ultegra Pedals

I'm thinking about buying PD-6610s. Anyone have any comments/thoughts? Let me know. It'd be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there a particular shoe that has gone with these that is better than the rest. Thanks.

I ride ultegra pedals, they're the older spd-r ones, but I love them. I've tried look and speedplay pedals and I keep coming back to these. So, yes I'm sure those are good pedals. Any shoe will be fine.

They are very good if not excellent pedals. I have 2 sets and even traded a set of Speedplay Zero's for them.

Awesome. Thanks for the insight. I found some at $83. Know any deals that can beat that?

I rode my SPD-SLs for the first time today. My previous pedals were PD-1056 (105 Look-style model from 1994). These feel way better while riding and were an easy transition from Look. They're easy to clip into, but require way more force to get them to release, even on the lowest tension setting. Come to Japan and you can get them for $78 after tax.

p.s. I have equally old Adidas shoes with a graphite sole that I don't want to replace.

I got mine for $89 and was happy with that price.

PS: your compliment of 55/Rad is cool, but said in a way that wasn't...

Relax boys - I got the point - thank you. Sometimes it feels like I do live here. Actually, if you had a desk job with 2 computers, you'd be here all the time too.

$83 is a great price - I've seen them as low as $79 but only on Ebay and I don't know what the shipping was.

I'm finding this deal on Ebay... I'd only buy if they're new so I figure I'm safe.

MrBallistic - a member here who I work with - bought a set off Ebay a couple of weeks ago for around that price. A "buy it now" auction for a new set from a powerseller. They are sweet and he had no problems whatsoever.

i got mine for $69 from ebay.
I love them, easy to clip out of.
Tell you the truth im not sure why everyone complains about cliping out.
I find it to be harder to clip in then out.

ask the seller for it: https://stores.ebay.com/Geargurl-Cycl...QQftidZ2QQtZkm
