Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

About 2,500 miles.

I'm closer to the bottom (this thread) than the top (the other thread) so I'm posting here.

I don't see this one as parody, just complementary.

I only rode about 1000 miles, but that's about typical for me in the last few years, given work and other home matters. But overall it was a good year. My rides included three recreational group rides I always like to do, and a 4-day easy solo bike tour.

I actually hit my 1000 mile annual goal yesterday (708 miles outside, and the rest on the BKool trainer/simulator on routes I have ridden outside).

I think I'll win, of people who actually rode - in terms of actual riding (not trainer) I'm probably under 100. Certainly under 200.

Edit: Ha, it's worse than I remembered. Exactly 30 miles on-road.
