Actually, that was sort of my point: the Roadhouse isn't heavy because it's poorly made, it's heavy because it's a completely different type of bike that prioritizes versatility and a smooth, stable ride over featherweightedness. Choosing discs over calipers is one of many elements of that. Other elements are such things as the inclusion of rack mount braze-ons, 30c rims+tires, eyelets, a bolt post over the rear wheel for mounting fenders, etc.

It's kind of like the carbon gravel and cx disc bikes that weigh 17lbs
