Building My First Bike, and it's a Merlin!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Actually I will profess that it's possible that Merlin changed their logo at some point in later 90s or so to the separated letters. My 2003 has newer logo. I'd guess you could be sure by looking and comparing to the head tube badge.

I do know that the only aftermarket decals I can find are the joined letters version (velocals I think is one company. Today's Merlins (competitive cyclist) have the separated letters. I actually sent them an email to ask if they sell the frame decals but haven't heard back.

@Sy Reene , @rpenmanparker

Doing some quick research. The merged 'M' 'E' logo appears to be the original logo for pre 2000 Merlin Metalworks Bicycles. The logo seems to have changed after the American Bicycle Group acquisition.

For reference, here's product shot of an Extralight in an early 90's Merlin catalog with merged 'M' 'E'

Funny, mine is the genuine Works CR so the decal style is completely different anyway.

I know that, but there are workable options.

Dang that bike is pretty. I have a 94 Merlin Titanium and I'm just about to put Ultegra 6800 on it. I wish mine had a 1& 1/8th inch fork so it would be easier to upgrade. I'm sort of stuck with only a few options. I'm trying to upload a photo from my mac and apparently cannot do so with the old upload browser they have. I want to show a before and after.
