Not start a huge argument, but I have broken a Cervelo S3 frameset that was never crashed(the BB shell broke loose). I'm confident that it was a defect, but they insist it wasn't.
They honored the warranty, but refused to accept that the frame was defective.

I broke a 2004.5 Roubaix Pro the same way. Improper bonding of the BB sleeve. They did warrant it because it was a known problem for that year and model.

I break road frames because I am not in the norm for individuals who these frames are built for. I ride in the range of 7,000 miles a year and I am in the 235 lb. range. I spent 20 years racing the velodrome, training for the speed events. I would do sets of 1,000 lbs. On the sled in the winter to build power. have broken steel frames, aluminum frames, and carbon. Last year, I had the bottom bracket of my Madone fail, had the paws on a Dura Ace hub fail, and had the non drive side crank arm sheer off on a Dura Ace crank. Composite material can make extremely durable products, look at what Boeing has been doing, but in terms of how it is being used in the cycling industry, it used to produce products that focus on lightweight more than durability. I bought my first carbon bike in 1992, a Kestrel.
If I were buying a bike right now for fun riding it would be a steel bike or ti. They are much more resistant to getting knocked around and if their is an issue, I have a choice of three plus frame builders who could do the repair, with carbon, other than the manufacture, I can only think of one actual company and they are in California. I know of a retired Boeing engineer who worked extensively with composites, I would trust him, but other than that. That is it. I have had repairs done on a steel frame in under a week, not so with any of the carbon issues.Do what you want. The op asked for opinions, I gave mine. I am okay if you don't agree.

So, I forget ... what do huge quads, huge power output, huge egos, and broken frames have to do with the OP's question?
You know, I put out more watts than Ghandi, and I could smoke Martin Luther King Jr. any day. And Einstein? I 'd drop him like he defined gravity.
There really is nothing else that matters, right?

Well...,back on the topic 😳. I went to the bike shop today and they have a 2015 roubaix sl4 with 105 that I can get for $1500. That's the best deal I've seen yet! The bike is gray with white bar tape that I would like to change to black! But other than that I think she will be good to go!
