Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I told them I was going to ride the wheels off my bike, and they thought I was exaggerating!

Oh, sorry! I forgot, since the last time I was there, they bulldozed a quarter of the city, to cover-up all the burnt-out hulks of what were once nice homes; and let nature reclaim the land. Out of sight; out of mind. See? What ghetto? What urban blight? Maybe they can widen the sidewalks downtown, so that they can reduce the number of lanes of the streets, so that they'll look like they're crowded with traffic, instead of an environment for tumbleweeds.

To nobody's surprise, William was also facing the wrong way at the starting line. Smiling... thinking he was the only one who showed up for the race, and that maybe this time, he had a shot at a win.

But we're talking bike thefts. And Philly and NY lead those
And car thefts would be California.

Detroit has it's problems, but a lot of good things are happening here in the past three years, and bicycles are central to the comeback. I just think it was a cheap shot when there are worse places in the country for bikes.

I bought these wheels from Bikes Direct for only $499.00.
They retail for $2,900.00.
