How do I take my kudos back?
I gave someone kudos by accident on Strava. How do I take my kudos back? The ride was not deserving of a kudos. Thanks.

I thought about that, but what if he doesn't wave back next time we cross each other? How do I explain that to my group?

I hate to detail a good circlejerk with a serious answer, but you can just go ahead and click the kudos button again to take it away.

??? I've never been able to take one back. A brief "sorry, didn't mean to hit the kudo button" does seem to shut down the comments tho.

Your life is like a jar of kudos - you only have so many you can dole out before you empty the jar and the remainder of your life is like a dry, sandy, kudoless desert.
You need to be more careful.

I'd give this thread kudos, but I'm not sure it deserves it... Rather than jumping right on in and saying "kudos," I'm going to contemplate it for the next few hours, weighing its kudoness.

This thread is not deserving of a kudos.
I am worried I may endorse it by mistake though. My internet kudos are almost as important as participation trophies so I want to be very careful with them.
What should I do?
I am to the point where I may start losing sleep over it.

A few years ago there was a member here - he mainly posted in the Clydes section but did venture into the 41 from time to time - who seriously suggested that BF should have a FB-style "like" button, because he didn't feel he was getting enough positive feedback on the ride pictures he was posting. Validation is clearly too serious a matter for jokes...

Funny you should mentioned waving, because I've come to see them as little more than virtual waves hello. The only time I don't give one to someone I follow is when the person was running or on Zwift. I don't want to see that

Please hurry spring time, and warm riding weather.....
No kudos expected, nor solicited, thank you very much, I don't wish to be responsible for someone ending up in that dry, sandy, kudoless desert on my behalf.

Such a good choice. I did this... once. I kudo'd a ride for a former teammate that I now despise (he started wearing a Giro Air Attack with the visor all the time), and I tried un-kudo'ing, but I accidentally kudo'd again. He texted me within 5 minutes and invited me out for a beer.
NO THANK YOU! It was a total disaster. I'm still a little shaken.

Not to derail @PepeM 's totally valid and important question, but I post on an auto racing forum that has a "like" system for posts and it isn't so bad, sometimes if someone posts something funny or whatever and you want to let them know but don't have anything to add, just "liking" the post is a nice option. If people panic about their lack of validation, there are deeper issues at play that a like system can't help.

This is where it gets crazy- maybe they could change the "like/dislike" terminology to something less reminiscent of Facebook, and call it up or down "votes", and you could have a bunch of special interest topics beyond just cycling. Wouldn't it be nice to have a place to discuss your favorite podcast or share memes, for instance?
I think I'm on to something here. Anyone want to fund my kickstarter campaign to revamp the site in this manner?
