RIP Brian Baylis
I knew Brian in the 80s. I road a couple Wizards. Later my friend bought one of his bikes - just to hang in her office. He made rideable art.
You can Google him/Wizard.

Brian's death is a loss to everybody who admires exquisitely crafted and painted custom steel bicycles.
He died from complications of pneumonia, and was only 62 years old.
R.I.P. Brian.

Damn, I hate to read that he has passed, much too young to leave us. I have been rereading some of the postings about Masi, and Mario Confente, on-line the past week, he will be missed, for his talents and the history of that part of cycling he was a part of.
Godspeed, Brian.

I can't say we were friends, but merely acquaintances back in the day.
Visited his shop many times in the early '90s with my racer buddies to hang out and burn some.
The art can't be fully appreciated without seeing the humble dude and shop from which it sprang.
God be with you Brian...

He died on my Birthday. I remember speaking to him when I purchased number 19 a simple elegant all black immaculte black frame with Campagnolo painted in Gold Campy style lettering. Gorgeous bike that I built up with Record of course. Anyone hasve a clue how to date these?
