Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I pity the fool that messes with BillyD.

RollCNY, congrats to your son, I'd recommend EE to any young person wanting/looking to go into engineering right now. Electrical or Electronics Eng is(are) the coming field(s).

Yes, as far as jobs and job creation, nothing against you structural guys, (I'm a civil type, and my degree is in environmental) but right now, around here, the jobs are in EE. Construction is dead here, and this mornings government reports showed overall slowing in construction.

I am a DOD/USN construction specialist, our company is sucking wind for work right now. One solitary job is going on for us, and it ain't on one of the bases around our area (school work.) I'm ready to retire here soon, unless something changes. Not complaining though, having Parkinson's Disease makes you ready to pack in the work routine, and ride your bicycle as much as possible.

Too many April Fools played today.

At work, our computer system was super slow all morning which made it a challenge.

Then I ruined my favorite shirt due to a leaking ballpoint pen in shirt pocket.

As the day went on the office got warm/hot and the AC is not working. By the end of the day it was near 80F in my exam rooms.

I don't get the joke but trying to take it in stride. I told the office manager if the a/c is not fixed I will come to work in a wife beater.

Crap. Our bed frame was squeaking so I hit it with a can of spray silicone lubricant. The squeak is gone but the room smells like toxic chemicals.

Fail.

I was in that era on the tt yesterday - Huey Lewis, Sports (halfspeed would be so proud), Gary Numan, Pleasure Principle (1979, but ya know), Sugar Hill Gang, Rapper's Delight (another 1979 record) and I had to spin John and Yoko's Double Fantasy that my dad gave me on Easter.

The Computrainer peeps down at the bike shop were listening to the 80s Cardio station on Pandora all winter.
