Tire rotation direction - the wrong way
 

Hi, I just swapped out my 700x32 cyclocross nobby tires with a pair of Continental Ultrasport 700x28s.

I forgot about the tire rotation direction, so now the front tire will rotate in the wrong direction. What should I do?

Option:
1) Do nothing stupid newb, only idiots worry about tire rotation direction. It doesn't matter.
2) Undo the quickrelease, flip the wheel, and put the quickrelease on the other side fork, thus causing the tire to rotate in the correct direction but now the rim is rotating backwards (does this matter?).
3) Remove the tire and reinstall it correctly, like you should have done in the first place.

Sorry, I'm sure this is a stupid thing to worry about but I don't want to come back tomorrow and learn that rim spoke strength is 50% if you're running tires incorrectly, etc..

2 =doesn't matter, flip the wheel.

Reinstall.....practice for those unexpected flats :)

You can do one of three things:

1.) Reinstall...and get a major headache! :mad:

2.) Turn the wheel around...and get laughed at by the posers...and 68-year-olds riding bikes with Wald baskets-- fully loaded with the week's groceries --on their beach cruisers! :roflmao: .... or....

3.) Don't worry about it and ride!! :D

(The direction of rotation usually does not matter, anyway, no matter what the manufacturer claims. That is, unless you are doing really agressive off-road riding. Like with an aggressive MTB on a really mean trail!! It's a 'cross bike, isn't it...NOT an MTB...who cares??)

Hahah. Now you're bike will go backwards!

If you hadn't noticed 1 would have been perfectly OK. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to you anymore.

2 isn't similar to 1, it's exactly like 1. If you flip the rim, there will be a sticker or writing somewhere on the rim that will face the wrong way. While it doesn't really matter, once you know it's there, you'll never be happy.

Once you realize your mistake, you have to do 3. Do it before you go to bed tonight. Welcome to the AR cycling club.

I'd go with option #3

3. I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing it was on backwards!
