Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fuji Roubaix build ideas

I am in the market for a new race bike and really like the Fuji roubaix, anybody have good ideas for a lightweight build or have already done a build yourself?

I looked into the Roubaix frameset and doing a build but concluded it was better to buy an existing build from Performance (see https://www.performancebike.com/bike...157&cadevice=c) for an ultegra build for $1200.

The only problem is that most of the performance bikes are the Matte black color and Fuji make a beautiful looking Roubaix in a multitude of colors including blue.

I think that is what I am going to do. At performance the new 1.0 le ultegra says $1650 but said they would take online price ($1200). I will then upgrade the wheels and crank.

Nice looking bike, but that blue frame they have Fuji Bikes | ROAD | COMPETITON SERIES | ROUBAIX 1.1 FRAMESET is beautiful, much better in person than on the internet. It has this pearliness to it that makes it almost glow.

Speaking of colors, is this manufacturer FUJI REMIX ROUBAIX AERO doing knock-offs? They say to order only via Fuji dealer and they apparently will do a wide range of custom colors.

Not yet but i will be soon , I will be signing up for USA cycling pretty soon and this is the bike I'll be using. The Fuji Roubaix is Fuji competion series good for racing. Specialty if you upgrade most of the parts you've got your self a full blown race bike like my roubiax .
