Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It will take several rides (probably about a week) for it to learn your fitness level. Until they it won't be very accurate. After that point, it'll be in the right ballpark. It's the amount of time you should rest before a hard workout, not before you exercise again. Also, it isn't necessarily all from the ride you just did, it's a measure of your current state; if you do a hard run without your 520, then do a recovery ride with it, it will "understand" that your body is stressed from the run and suggest an appropriate time.

But, again, your 30 hours until full recovery is because this is the first time you've used it. Ignore it for a week.

(I don't have a 520, but this feature has been around forever. I've had it in my Fenix 3 for a year.)
