Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Choice almost made...

I am probably making a decision today. Some of you saw my post about choosing between new and used, and I almost pulled the trigger on the new Performance Bike Fuji Roubaix with Tiagra at $900 when I just ran across a used 2012 Cannondale Synapse 5 105 in very good condition with an asking price of $600, supposing I can talk him down to $500. 2016 New Fuji vs. 2012 Synapse. I liked the 2016 synapse I rode yesterday, but the negative is the acceleration, positives on the endurance. How much value should a $1200 synapse hold in 2016?

Woops noticed the one he is selling is the alu version.
I'd say it's still worth it imho at $500.

it is full 105 on the dale?

now for the fuji is it the new tiagra 4700 or the older expose shift cable 4600?

if the dale fits I would prefer the dale over the Fuji...if you are not sure a new bike with shop support will be a better route.

The dale will retain its value longer.

I would take the Synapse (BF: assuming it fits and all that.) Acceleration and endurance are rider, not bike, traits my friend.

I don't know of any new bikes coming with 4600, so I'm assuming it's 4700, but I agree with you on the Cannondale in that it should hold its value better.

Well my nearest and favorite LBS is a Cannondale dealer. Awesome guys there and I get tons of help from them. I wouldn't get the bike from them but tons of help even so. Not sure about the Fuji. It's the 2016 3.0 if that helps.

That's full 4700 Tiagra bike. I've ridden it, the 105 version it was pretty good.

I'd go for the cannondale, save your money. If the cannondale is full 105's, it should be comparable to the Tiagra on the new bike.

If you are open to Tiagra, this bike seems like a good deal for $700 (only sizes S and M):

Ridley Fenix Alloy Tiagra Double Complete Road Bike - 2015 - On Sale | Steep and Cheap

Oops, you already got the Cannondale.
