Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Up**** I mean upstate new york chiming in here. Yeah, it's been cold A.F. Chased down a group ride a few days ago and tagged alone behind them for a few miles. Twas nice.

I'm getting ~50-60 miles during the week and it depends if I'm visiting family or not to get a 40-50 miler on the weekend.

When I'm not freezing my butt off I'm a one man show so no home support to cook, clean, laundry etc. Takes a lot of god damn time, never thought it would be so consuming up-keeping a domestic area.

I need a live-in asap so I can cycle more.

If I were doing 50-60/hrs a week at work my **** would fall apart on one end or the other. Note I didn't say 70 because I'd kill myself before I did that

Also dealing with the cold this week, temps in the upper 60s. Next week, back to the low 80s. Still maintaining an average of 215 a week.

I will say maybe OP worded his post poorly and meant to say this week last year was in the 60s and 70s but this year it's much colder. Or maybe we're being trolled again. Since it's Positivity Friday at my office, I'll respond seriously.

The afternoons are nice this time of year, but unfortunately for me I ride before work and I hate riding outside when it's below 40, so a lot of my riding this year has been on the trainer. Strava tells me I'm averaging 125 miles per week this month including Zwift miles. I'd like to get to 150 miles/week over the summer when it's 65-70 right before dawn when I like to roll out.

Well in my cold state I've been riding the stationary bike at the club all winter for about 100-140 miles per week. Can't complain though. The views have been incredible. Beautiful women in spandex on the treadmill. Sauna/Steam to finish it off.

It will be 60s this weekend finally so I'll officially be back on the road starting tomorrow! Going to set some personal records this year.

4:15...there's a warm up and cool down in there.

It's FINALLY in the 60's here. I think I've gotten like 10 miles in this week.

Mostly trainer still for me because of family responsibilities. 12 hours last week. 47 miles if you're only counting outdoor mileage.

I can hook you up with a good Meteorologist if you're "weather challanged".

Right. You mention that it's been too cold to ride, then mention the 60's and 70's and you think that anyone should automatically assume that you're talking about lows in the 30's? Are you out of your mind? Any rational person would read that post and would assume that you were riding in the middle of the day/afternoon and not immediately jump to "Well, let's see, if it's in the 60's and 70's and he's riding at 6 a.m., gee it's gonna be near freezing!"

That and HTFU. Layers. Ride.
