Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FSA SLK 0/15 setback seatpost angling problem

Hello everyone,

I have a FSA SL-K 0/15mm setback seatpost on my road bike. Recently I have been looking at saddles, and I am having difficulty in positioning the nose of the saddles horizontal to the ground or for that matter have the nose be at any negative angle.

The saddles in question are:

1) Selle Italia Novus

2) Selle SMP drakon

3) Sepcialized Power Expert

I think the problem lies with the SL-K seatpost in that it just doesn't let me achieve any nose down angles (and horizontal angles on saddles that are curved). Has anyone else faced a problem with this seatpost? May be I am adjusting things incorrectly?

I have tried setting the setback at 0 and at 15 (I usually use 0 setback), but this hasn't improved anything.

Thanks @rpenmanparker. I think the LBS who changed it to 0 setback forgot to make the 180 degree turn before installing the saddle. Now I can easily get the seatpost to be horizontal!
