Clement Strada LLG
Just wanted to give everyone a quick opinion on Clément's Strada LLG tires.
Bike: Colnago AC-R; Campy Record & Chorus group; Campy Shamal Ultra 2 way rims; Clement Strada LLG 25's
Have about 3500 miles on these tires and to me they look brand new, ride over some pretty awful choppy back roads here in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, and these tires do not have 1 cut or mark on them, They have with stood road temps of over 120 degrees ( Garmin says).
Have great traction in all conditions - have never slipped in on very wet roads, climbing steep hills and have been rock steady on fast down hills.
Last summer my bike buddy ( also runs Strada's - he had too) and I did RAGBRI - 7 days of hearing tires pop; passing people fixing flats and we just kept on rolling - his tires have no cuts and they too look brand new. We both run at about 90 PSI and that seems to soften the broken and potted road surfaces here.
We are not racers by any stretch of anyone's imagination but for 2 old coots we generally ride 30 to 60 mikes a trip a couple of times a week and try to build up speed for what purpose - who knows
But think about this over 3000 miles on 1 set of tires that are light; comfortable; flexible; hold pressure ok and have never had a flat.
Heading to Montana and Yellowstone this summer - so will replace current set with new Strada's - only for piece of mind when we go barreling down Beartooth pass.
thanks for listening

Just replaced the 700x25 Clement Stradas on my wife's bike with 700x28 Vittoria Rubino Pro G+ (which mount to 700x26 on her Mavic wheels,) and her average speed has gone up about 1.5mph. The Vittorias can be run ~15psi lower, so the ride is more comfortable as well. The Stradas were perfectly competent tires, and excellent for the price I paid for them, but the Rubino Pro G+ are just better.

Their my favorite tires as for as long as I can find them for $35 or less.
Oof, my regular sources both want close to $50 at the moment.
I've been curious to try out the 32mm on the Lemond, maybe they'll have a sale again soon...

They were the 120tpi. The Vittoria didn't do well in the tests on bicyclerollingresistance.com, but I think that might be due to them testing the 700x25. I guess the taller profile of the 700x28 makes a big difference, as the Vittorias are faster at 80F/85R than the Stradas were at 95F/100R. The wife also used to complain of sore elbows and wrists, but that has reduced significantly since the new tires went on. I only switched tires in hopes of getting her a more comfortable ride. The added speed at the same level of effort is a nice bonus.
