Padded cycling tights

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Padded cycling tights

Is it weird to wear these during the summer? The Lambda ones I got off Amazon are pretty thin and seem pretty comfortable. Would roadies look at me weird? lol. I'm also new to wearing tights and compression shorts out on the road. I usually put on some running shorts on top. Do you guys just go with it?

WTF do you mean by padded cycling tights?

Are you talking about regular ol' bike shorts / bibs? If so, why would people look at you weird? Are your tights different from your compression shorts? Why would you wear running shorts to go for a bike ride?

Do tell.

Most roadies give me funny looks (usually a scowl). All my kit is super-hero themed.
Other bikers smile.
TFB.

If they can't get over the way you look: that's their problem not yours.

Roadie scowl is a natural expression.

RBF...roadie bicycle face.

Wear the tights. If they prove to be too warm, don't wear them.
Ditch the running shorts.

Real men wear tights. In fact, I've grown so confident with my bicycle tights that I think I might start walking around public with Yoga Pants like the ladies do. I have a pretty cute butt after all.

you'd be lucky to even get a scowl from most serious roadies.

some random noob's fashion issues are pretty low on the priority list.
