Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On the contrary, a fight damn near broke out over your nomination and vote. I had to relent in the face of overwhelming opposition, although I might yet appeal to the supreme court. First I must nurse myself back to good health. But I tried, ol buddy.

Just an aside, but I was thinking today how this is the greatest logo in all of cycling:

It depicts exactly what it is without ambiguity.

That's it.

Back to the scheduled programming.

Not sure how well this link to a video on FB will work but if it does, it's worth looking at. Time-lapse video of the fire burning at night outside of town.

That's weird. No link in the first post.

Then when I tried to copy/paste the link in the second post, same thing. I paste it into the post, but nothing shows up.

It's crazy to see life as usual going on in the foreground. I mean, really, what else are you gonna do? Hope things are getting under control there.

Her ankle is much better. She stayed off of it on Saturday and most of Sunday. By the time Sunday afternoon rolled around she was getting a bit restless, so she walked around a little bit, then rested in again Sunday evening. She is walking with a little limp, but getting around well. The smart part was that she stayed off of it for two days and iced it.

Does anyone here have any SRAM hydraulic brakes made in the last couple of years? Just wondering if they still suck or not. I remember on the MTB's the Avid series brakes had a very specific bedding in process that they required you to follow to the letter. I did that on a Cannondale 29er I had and still got noisy brakes. We also had lots of customers complain and we often refinished the pads and rotors and did the bedding in process again with mixed results. The bike I'm looking at now has the new Apex hydraulic brakes.

And another thing: People find it annoying when a manufacturer says 105, but then cheaps out on the crank and puts house brand brakes on. The new Fargo is labeled as the "Rival 1" but only has a Rival rear derailleur. And that's it. Lower level crank, Sunrace cassette, Apex shifters and brakes. Really, Salsa?
