Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Coming soon to Chicago, at least what they call a "Pop-Up" -- not sure if this means it will just be short term engagement in the windy city?

I have Assos and Rapha. Rapha jersey quality is better. There's no comparison, at least to me, on the chamois/padding with Rapha. Other than that, I think bibs are equal.

I have Q35 tri shorts. They are very uncomfortable. It's like they heard less material is good so they decided to do excellent. There's no padding at all.

Tri shorts, you have to be able to swim and run in them also.

Right. I have other brand tri shorts. The Q35 is something different which isn't good.

Generally speaking, a Pop-up store is a temporary location(usually for the Christmas holiday season). Sometimes companies do this to test the market before investing in a full build out.

Sounds like you didnt do your research. Some triathletes prefer no padding. I do when I do sprints, so I just wear jammers for the whole thing.

I prefer everything Rapha over Assos. But full disclosure, I only own lower end Assos stuff.

The riders could just be visiting your city from one that does have a RCC. Or maybe they travel often to a city that has one.

Agree. You can get by with just about anything for sprints. But it's totally different with regular Olympic, half IM and longer.

I've gone on many cycling vacations, and never wanted a camp counselor to show me where to go.

RCC This reminds me of Club Med for cyclists.

Their clothing is top quality, but I don't care for the styling or image the company markets.

Yeah, I used to belong to a photo message board that was very into these group photo vacations. It's an interesting concept, but I prefer to do my own thing on vacation. If I don't feel like waking up in the morning, I don't want to be yelled at for missing a ride or appointment or something.

I worked for Club Med as a ski instructor back in the mid 90s. It was a fun job, but for the most part, the people that went on those vacations were pathetic.

I've been offered positions with tour companies, but I can't force myself to do that sort of thing again. Imagine being a domestique all day for a bunch of Freds, and then spending the rest of the day as their best wingman.

lol, pandemonium ensues whenever someone gets a flat tire.

For the cost of the Rapha stuff, I'd hope they have car support following everyone.
