I live in Canada and love road cycling. I also had road bike experience with my Peugeot F100 and want to upgrade it with new road bike butr my budget is limited, here is what I found near my location:
1- Trek 1.1 2016 costs me 935CAD after tax the bike shop in my city.
2- Giordano Libero 1.6 costs me 580CAD after tax from amazon.ca
I did n't have any other option. ('d be appreciated if suggest me any other option)
My big question is this premium price for Trek 1.1 worth to pay? while as i learned both of them have same shimano claris system.
Need your suggestion and comments ASAP.

If you know what size you need you can buy online at performance Bike or Bikes Direct for less .... I am not sure aoutht e Amazon bike ... do you have links?

If this is the Giordano (Giordano Libero Men's Road Bike - Giordano Bikes) then it has a mix of Claris and lower-spec parts and a steel fork. If this is the Trek (1.1 | Trek Bikes) then it has a carbon fork and a straight Claris kit except cassette.

I can't tell but it looks like the Trek has much better brakes.

The Trek weighs about 24 lbs (1-0.82 kg) and I assume the Giordano would be heavier. I cannot tell online, but it seems like the Giordano is just a more cheaply made bike.

All in all I have a lot more faith in the Trek. The Giordano could be a great deal but i don;'t know the company or the bike.

Whether the differences are worth the difference in price only you can say.

I cannot find any info on the Peugeot so I don't know what constitutes an "upgrade".

Last time I happened on a new Trek 1.1 it was sitting on the sales floor of my my LBS. This was about a year and a half ago and it was priced...before taxes....at about 550USD.

Out of those two the Trek but it seems like it's priced high. Are you set on new, a used bike would get a lot more for the money. What is your timeline for getting a bike? What is your budget?
As far as the price premium between the two consider the Trek will have a shop supporting you in getting the right size, looking over and adjusting the bike so it's ready to ride when you leave the store. Not sure where you are but go check out some shops and see what's available and in your price range. You will be much happier with a bike you can look over prior to purchase as Pposed to really nice photos on the internet.

The Giordano I liknked to is priced at 500 USD. Not sure how Amazon can be selling it for less.

$550 US is about $725 Canadian, so I'd say the Trek dealer is trying to rip someone off ... but until OP provides a link, we won't really know which Trek exactly he is considering.

Also ... the bike shop should be willing to mark down the trek because the 2017 models will be coming soon.

I m 5'10" tall and prefer new bike as the only used bike list I know in my location is below list:

the matter is did n't find any other option and the different price between these two is 24%!
the other matter is I don't like to loose the summer as road biking mostly limited in mid-spring to end of summer here. Right now, I don't has any road bike and jealous of riders around me!!
any other advice? I'll thankful.

In my personal opinion, you can have a lot of the joy of riding without spending anywhere near that amount on a bicycle.
With a lower price consideration in mind, there are more choices. Hell, I'm a student, and when I can save money, I do. I enjoy riding around on my 32 year old Peugeot. I'm sure you'll find something you enjoy soon enough.

Well according to Amazon, that Giordana 1.6 has: Wheel Size 700 inches. Must be tough to change flats.

The one Giordano has a tiny frame, 17 inches, and 24-inch wheels, sdo it is best suited to a very short rider.

i'd say that if you know that you want a 56-cm frame, the 56-cm Giordano with Claris would be fine.

That second bike has 24" wheels compared to the 700c so it's a smaller road bike for getting a kid going on road cycling. I would be concerned about the reviews claiming really out of true wheels. Sound like this bike needs some build attention and not so much a reassemble and ride scenario. Seems like a GMC Denali type bike and if that's where your budget is, so be it. It will get you out and riding once any issues are worked it. Claims of poor braking could be addressed with Kool Stop salmon brake pads, cheaper than a brake upgrade and can be transforming due to cheap ineffective brake pads provided on some bikes.
The Trek would not have these issues but getting the shop down to a better price may not happen. What is your mad budget?

I don't see all that much wrong with the Giordano Libero 1.6 except probably cheap heavy wheels and the bike is overall heavy. I'd probably want to eventually replace the saddle, wheels, and handlebar which can all be relatively cheap and still useful improvements. Everything else looks fine.

In addition to craigslist, you should also check out kijiji (annoying interface) and pinkbike.
Here's some road bikes in Saskatoon, a little more pricey than what you are looking at right now though.

yeah. I think i should order this Geordano 1.6 if i'd nt receive any good news from that Gravity 2.0 seller.
I Have good look and good Italian saddle too. Only break remained so I can handle it with affordable price I think.

If you buy the Giordania ride it a little first, check out the brakes and if the function is subparagraph try a little sandpaper and scuff each brake pad a little bit to get through the surface. If that does not improve braking much then the Koop Stops will improve the braking for sure. Give the bike a good once over for any possible defects, easier to deal with before the bike is ridden. I think it will get you out on the road and get you going for a few years.

Can't get any links to work on this tablet but to give you an idea of price at Bike Tires Direct a package is $7.19 for two pads and you would need two packs so less than $15.00. Part of what makes them better is these pads are softer so the life span is shorter but it's negligible. Again this is only if the braking is really bad. No need to spend money where it's insignificant.

Bikes Direct is reputable for online sales, and to be honest I'd personally have more confidence in the Gravity Liberty than in the Geordano.

I think a couple folks on here have bought Gravitys. (https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycli...ity-frame.html, for instance.)

I own a BikesDirect bike, as do several other forum members ... and I think a few own Gravitys. never heard anything bad about them from the people who actually own them. they are not big brands (neither in Giordano) which is why (plus direct sales) that they cost less than big-brand bikes with equal spec and attributes.

No matter what, you are looking to buy an entry-level road bike. Whatever you get is not likely to be amazing and fantastic. But it should be completely serviceable and reliable. I have a lot of miles on my BD bike---it is just a bike, it works the way a bike works. That's what I wanted, it's what i got.

Not trying to influence your choice---you have to like what you buy, and my opinion makes zero difference. But I can say that BD is a reliable source.
