What is the best bike you've owned / Favorite?
Hey guys,
Bored at home and a thought came to my mind that I haven't seen a post about "your favorite bike" around here. What has been your favorite bike out of the ones you've owned? Post a pic if you have one as well.
I have two favorites for different reasons. One of my two faves is a 1988 Panasonic DX4000. That bike is just so awesome to ride because it feels so solid yet it's almost my age if not older. I love that it has first Gen Shimano 105 and that the gearing is so tough.
My ultimate favorite is the new Tarmac I just built up. It has everything I look in a bike. It is light @ 14.12 pounds, it look amazing and the Campy stuff is just so sexy-smooth. I love how comfortable it is and how it rides like it's on rails.

This one. I would never part with this bike. It was built in late 2008. I have Michelin Pro4's on it now I had to stick those crappy Bontragers on it for about a week. I should take a new picture.

I don't have a pic, but in the early 80's I had a Schwinn Traveler that was my brothers. He gave it up when he started to drive and I got it. It's what got me into cycling. Wish I still had it.

It is a steel frame though, not Ti, Columbus Niobium tubes.

My first love is still my favorite — 2001 Litespeed Tuscany.

I don't have a pic any longer, but I'll always have a soft spot for my Schwinn Prelude I bought in about 2009 or 10. I started riding an old walmart mtb because I was getting heavy and my age was showing. When it became apparent that I enjoyed riding I bought the Prelude at another big box store. Terrible drive train, heavy as hell, but it was bullet proof and I can't count the miles I put on it. I have such fond memories of that bike even though all I did was fight it day in and day out. I sent it off with my son when he started college and he was less than diligent when it came to locking it up so it's gone now. If I still had it, it'd be bolted into a trainer as we speak.

So far the best bike I have ever owned, 2014 Felt F2 w/Ultegra Di2. Only real upgrades are Williams System 38 carbon clinchers, Fizik Arione R1 saddle and went from 3T Ergosum bars to Ergonova bars. I have a lot of fun ridding this bike and it always seems to be the most fun when I am pushing my abilities, the bike is far more capable than I ever will be.

As new:
It has a green saddle and gold bar tape now, and the spacers have been reduced. Also has a computer, compact crank (still silver Athena), Vittoria Pave tires (with the green stripe), white Mandible cages, a couple of event stickers, and a chipped chainstay. I've been on such awesome rides on it. I should take better care of it, but it still gets lots of compliments.

My favorite bike ever is actually my current bike, a Motobecane Ti frame that I built up with old 6600 Ultegra and 6700 alloy wheels. Over the years I've learned what works for me and what drives me crazy. I prize hour 4 comfort, reliability, durability, practicality and predictable handling in bikes. The Moto suits my needs. The Moto has neutral handling (despite the slightly racy geometry) and is very comfortable while remaining fairly stiff out of the saddle (I'm 5'10", 160). The Moto was easy to build (pre-faced threaded BB, external cabling, thick and strong RD hanger) and has proven extremely reliable and noise free over about 15K miles. The bike has an indestructible brushed Ti finish, it will look new forever. Also, the frame was $1,100 which is one of the best deals going, IMO. I wish it could fit 28mm tires and I don't like the cheesy "CARBON" decals on the fork blades but those are my only complaints.

Most fond memories: My Trek 660 with Campy Nuovo Record and Modolo breaks with these fancy things called aero brake levers. I remember thinking I was now "legit" because I had Italian components. I did my first century on that bike, among other things.
Favorite: My current custom ti made by a sole proprietor.

My current bike in its current configuration. 2015 Lynskey R240 with SRAM Force22, Ritchey cockpit, fi'zi:k Antares saddle, and Pacenti wheelset of my own building, wrapped in Conti GP4000s.
This is the bike I built up after taking a Ford F-150 to the ass and having to replace my previous favorite bike, a Scott Addict R3.

I've owned about 20 road bikes, and ridden most everything else. and its not close.
Masi Prestige, D-Ace 8 speed everything except Campy cranks, f dlr, brake levers & seatpost. Cinelli bar and stem, turbo saddle. Mavic clinchers for training, gl330s/corsas on race day. Boom!

I liked that color. That's what I wanted with my first road bike but it wasn't available two years later. I ended up with a specialized slightly darker but white saddle and tape. Also was the bike for my first race but I never made Cat 3

If it matters to you, after years of trying to figure out what to do with it, I stripped it and built it up with a full 105 5800 group and some old Mavic wheels I had. Soon to get a further upgrade with a Ritchey Classic handlebar, stem, and seatpost.
Not my favorite bike, but a fun one to ride.

(1) Buying that gorgeous Lynskey.
(2) Figuring out that a pedal wrench makes a perfect bike display stand for threads like this.

My first "real" bike was a DX2000. I totally loved my MAZA (not Masi) Prestige w/Athena friction shifters and Campy wheels. But, the two I love are the two I have....2006 Masi Gran Criterium S and Guru Sidero (steel).

It was a late 70s Nishiki Competition, with bar end shifters.
