Doper sells dope
Disgraced TDF champ / non-champ Floyd Landis has opened a Colorado marijuana dispensary.
What kills pain better -- massage, Advil, ice bath, EPO, beer, or pot?

This is months old news. I think cyclingnews.com had a story on this back in May or June.

Just because the state has legalized it doesn't make it right. I still call it drug dealing.

I don't see anything wrong with this. It's legal in CO, he's making an ironic business move that will get him a lot of press, whatever. Doesn't affect me in any way.
@TimothyH is it not "right" because it's still banned at the Federal level? Doesn't that seem a little cynical to you when tobacco cigarettes are legal?

If by 'Colorado' you mean the state government then yes they get additional tax revenue. If Colorado includes the residents then the net effect is pretty much zero. I'd be surprised if legalizing pot increased tourist revenue.
I'm curious if the price of pot has changed in Colorado and Washington since legalization, i.e. is it less expensive to buy legally vs previous street sources?

Legal pot is the future, like it or not. But the truth is that's its far better used instead of some of the pharmaceutical alternatives. And where pot is being prescribed, the amount of prescriptions for opiods/narcotics/whatever is significantly less. And that is a good thing. Those pills are the real killers.

TL;DR it's kind of a wash from an economic perspective. It's created jobs, but the tax revenues are short of expectations and it's hard to say whether any increase in tourism is related. It's probably helped the state, but not by as much as the advocates hoped initially.
It's definitely not hurting the state's economy, though, and one thing that's not being considered is the impact on the criminal justice system. No need to arrest/process people with small amounts of weed on them.
According to other articles, the legal prices were initially way higher than what people were paying on the illegal market, but they've since equalized.
Also, buying legally theoretically diverts money that would potentially otherwise be channeled into a cycle that funds producers of far more dangerous drugs.
I think red bikes are faster, to keep this cycling-related.

Regardless of its legality in a couple states, drugs are illegal in the vast majority and drug discussion forbidden in Bike Forums.
Later.
