Fuel for 25 mile ride?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm OK being sugar adapted.
My sentiments exactly. And if you think you'll run out of energy on a ride, put a couple of teaspoons of sugar in a water bottle. All energy food becomes glucose in the end anyway.

Now, that some of the TDF riders have commented.

Fuel for a 25 mile ride. Depends on your intensity and age. Hills, flats, combined? Also, depends on how long before your ride?

If your ride is in two or three hours, of course have something to eat.

During your ride, nible a little here and there.

Or, don't fuel at all. You don't want to pig out when you get home.

You never want to be completely empty when you get home.

GL.
