Knee warmer recommendations
Probably discussed before, but every year someone comes out with something new and/or improved. My biggest considerations are:
1) pre-articulated / bias cut. Knee warmers that are cut straight never fit me right, and usually end up bunching behind the knee, which I hate.
2) material that doesn't cause shorts to ride up. Most of the knee warmers I've used are typical slippery lycra, and the gripper on my shorts doesn't do a good job keeping my shorts in place. They end up riding way up my thigh, and I have to keep pulling them down.
3) good fit around calf. I don't have big calves, so I'm looking for something that fits well around smaller calves and won't ride up.
My biggest problem is stuff riding up and/or bunching. I can't size down, because then they don't fit so good around my thighs. Not saying I'm Quadzilla, but I end up with the sausage leg thing if the thigh opening is too small. I have a feeling if I get a more anatomically cut pair, many of my problems will go away.

I've been happier with my Volers. Best so far.

I wear bib knickers instead. Even if it warms up during the day, at least for me, I don't have an issue with my knees overheating.

Weird, because I have the PI's and I find them to be pretty bad. Maybe they've changed their style recently, mine are several years old now.

I love my Hammer ones.. which might be the same Voler as above. They are longer so they have a lot of shorts overlap while still having some calf coverage too. Never had an issue with them coming down during normal riding (a lot of walking or on/off cx causes some sag)

I'm gonna go with a pair of Craft warmers.
Knee Warmer
Supposedly they are anatomically shaped, and I like the outer gripper. We'll see how they work, if not, they aren't too expensive I can relegate them to short rides.

^^^This. I never used to give knee warmers much thought, but I picked up a pair of the Specs a year or two ago and they are definitely superior to anything else I've worn. Hit all the OP's bullet-points too.
