anyone know about fuji
Thinking about getting a gigantic fuji supreme off of ebay.
I am 6'8" and it is the biggest frame I have seen on there in the past 5 or 6 months of searching for something huge for not 3 grand, not even 1 grand. see if I can link it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=7157579387 anyone know anything about these frames: va lite tubing, etc. I weigh 250. |
Looks pretty cheap. Any frame that big isn't going to have a lot of bidders. (In fact, it looks like it was too big for whoever rode it as well)
|
Man, I'd worry about that top tube length.. 60cm on a 67cm frame? That's a wicked short top tube! Outside of that, it doesn't look too bad for a really old bike. That has to be the longest headtube I've ever seen in my life. :p

I just broke out the tape measure to see what a 37 standover is. it is tall. I'm glad.
how about the frame? anyone know about that? |

I figured, aside from the top tube, bottom bracket height, among other things, that the ebay fuji was a substitute at a fraction of the cost. I'm barely employed right now after some surgery.... |
hope ya get a ride man.

I just got a 66 custom steel Marinoni Fango (CX) and it has a 60 cm top tube with a standover height of 36".
Im 6'6" and 245 lbs and it is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. I have done 3 centuries in the past two weeks and most other days are 50 to 60 mile rides. |
Fuji Valite is a proprietary chrome-vanadium steel tubing. It's strength and durability is a major plus for heavier riders such as yourself.
I've been the proud owner of a 1984 Club Fuji (Valite 1769 quad-butted tubing) for 21 years, and it's as solid a ride as the day I bought it. I'm 6'4" with a 36" inseam so I opted for the 25 inch frame (63.5cm). It's a great bike for long distance rides. Hope you have a speedy recovery and good luck finding a ride. |

I had a Fuji Newest, 58cm.
It was light, but a harsh ride. |
I lost the auction! computer shut down with 5 minutes left, and once I was rebooted it was 100$ higher. lost by 3.50.
Speaking of top tubes, the bike Zinn had probably had a 65 top tube I bet. it was SO big, I had to lower the saddle. maybe it was his lightweight saddle with no cushion, but it was a great feeling to actually have a bike that is too big for once. I wish I knew how fast I was going on his bike. I know coming down the pass near my house I can get 50mph if there's no upslope winds... I guess I will keep my eyes out for something else. I still have a fixer upper project..... |
curious, do you get the shimmy frame vibration at high speeds at your weight? I think ew weigh about the same....
