I went to bed early. Weights at 5 am come early. Then, there was that 100 miles I rode a bit later. I'm kind of hungry.

around 11:30P, but then woke up again at 11:58 when the neighborhood fireworks peaked... I have no idea what war sounds like, but I am guessing it was pretty close.

Casually Deliberate
I don't care if they've been doing this for 20 years; it's still wrong. I am okay with going as far as avocado on a bagel because I'm a Northwesterner but a Funfetti schmear is way over the line. If you want it to be "like having cake for breakfast" then stop pretending and have cake for breakfast.

In #adulting news, buying appliances sucks. We tried, twice, to get a nice five-door Whirlpool fridge, but both arrived with issues and were refused, and we got a refund to try an LG. Hopefully that will come successfully, but getting the food out of the old one in preparation is a pain, especially when you then don't actually get the new fridge.
Bah.
Bah.

I bought my wife a toaster that besides toast, cooks bagels, muffins, hard boils or poaches or cooks eggs soft, medium or hard.
It was a belated Christmas present. She thought my daughter in law was buying her one but didn't so I ordered her one quick off of Amazon.
Thing works great.

I like to celebrate with Mrs. rpen when it is just us. New Year's Eve is just a drag with all the crowds of people acting stupid. And the restaurant folks not giving a damn, the stupid pricey prix fixe menus just really take away from the fun. We do go out for dinner, but that is all. Back home and to bed at regular time. Few things are as anticlimactic as fireworks.
It is tough for us on our anniversary too, which is Valentines Day. Back when we were married it was no big deal. Now it is such a big thing that we have to wait a week to celebrate our anniversary to avoid all the BS on the 14th.
Oh...and get off my lawn.

We have a party every New Years that starts at 6 and everyone leaves around 10. I was in bed by 11. I usually don't drink, but a friend brought a bottle of limoncello and I had a few sips of it. That stuff is green and strong!

Right back at you. I was thinking YOU were putting on airs with that thing. But my preference is for the left hand egg. That one is always best.
Does it make Hollandaise Sauce too? That would be sweet. Eggs Bendict all from one appliance.

It must have gone bad. It is supposed to be yellow. Or did you mean green as in too young to drink?

Looks cold.
I also have two different color bar tape on the Roubaix. Black and white. Reminds me of the classic Star Trek episode "Let That Be Your Final Battlefield."

Ding! I think we have a winner.
I went to some older church members' house, ate lots (fat!), and played table games.
That's pretty geezerish, I guess but here I can still feel young and hip.
