Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I didn't think we'd ever see this bike go lower than the $1349 they ran back a few weeks ago! Sure is tempting!

Speaking of the Scattante, last season I picked up the aluminum version (SLR I think) for somewhere around $200 (frame, carbon fork, headset) to hang my spare parts off of, and I was pretty surprised at how nice it was.

The CFR's probably a really nice bike.

Thanks for the info, Smaug. I skipped the home page and went straight to the road bike page. That's why I didn't see it. Silly me.

All you gotta do is ask if he can give you the same deal, cuz you can get it for the sameprice online. It's the same store, so it should be fine.

Well the deal has ended and the current price they have is at 1499 for the double and 1699 for the tripple.

i got offered 1300 pre tax, but 1149 is a big difference...

Just got the Scattante tuned up and took it for a night spin around the block...it is head and shoulders above my Trek 1500...from the geometry to the weight savings to the feel...all better. It accelerates like a bat outta hell and I don't have the BB flex like I had on the Trek. Looking forward to hitting the crits with it this week.

I don't have a scattante, but I have the same frame, an EPX 303. The bike rides great. Extremely smooth and I'd say it's a decent deal at $1500.

I'm really surprised to hear that you find a CF bike to accelerate quicker than an Al one. You also note less BB flex? I would think it was the other way around.. Also, do you know the weights on both bikes? I'm curious to see how much lighter the CF frame is than the AL one.

My cfr weighed in at 16.9 with the stock metal footpegs on, which i changed to some nice crankbrothers. This is also with the reflectors still on (front, rear, wheels) and something else that was weighing it down a little. I am pretty sure mine weighs around 16.2 now.

Hmmm....

You guys are inspiring me to jump in... Damn just waiting for another 'nice' Supergo coupon to be released...

Can anyone of you CFR owners post some nice porn pics of your rigs?...

I am 5'6" and think the 50cm would be best for me...

Suggestions on a sizes?...

Thanks in advance...

damn, aussie531 needs to buy one of these and put calfee decals on it

that "webbing" (specifically between the headtube and toptube/&/downtube) is very calfee-like
