Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

any tips for riding out of the saddle?

I still have issue with too much movement on the handlebars when getting out of the saddle.

Given this is on flats, usually when I am dealing with headwinds and need that little push to get me up into my comfortable spinning range.

Is there any particular tricks I should know. For what it's worth I usually have my hands just behind the hoods when I am doing this.

Thanks!

try and keep your butt as close to the tip of the saddle as possible (don't lean forward too much) this will mean less pressure on the front end and a more aero position without the death grip on the handlebars.
