Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The only century I've ever done in a paceline format was TOSRV, in '01. The vast majority have been solo.
Kudos @datlas

One of today's riders was taking a selfie of himself and the rest of us. I suddenly got this brilliant idea that will make me a million: combo frame pump/selfie stick.

Thoughts?? Should I get to work on Kickstarter?

Just got a text from the painter that my Gianni Motta is finished. Get to see it hopefully by Tuesday. I asked him to send me a pic.

+1.

Also, they take care of my ulnar nerve issues. I've tried like 20 brands on, and I settled on the excellent $11 LG 1 Calory gloves. https://garneau.com/us/en/1-calory-c...r/black-020-60

There's not much padding compared to every other glove I've tried, but it's in the perfect places, so it actually seems to work better.

Also, good for wiping boogies and sweat.

For everyone east of me, get your rain gear ready. For everyone SW of me, my condolences.

We've got 3.5" rain since ~noon of day one of floodagedden. Pepe is probably nearing 10" and the radar doesn't showing things moving very fast.

We were supposed to get it all day today, still nothing yet. I already got my 5 hours in this week thinking today was going to be shot. Stoopid weather people.

We may still get it, though.

We got a light drizzle. The front is here, though. It's cool.

However, just east of here seems to have gotten it really bad:
NOT DFW - Van Zandt County TX - There are preliminary reports of catastrophic damage across multiple areas of Van Zandt County near Canton, TX, about 60 miles east of Dallas. There are also reports of injuries, some fatal. At least two large tornadoes have impacted the area with major destruction reported around the cities of Canton, Fruitvale, and Emory. Houses and other structures have been destroyed, according to Emergency Management in the county.
