Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Custom made Pegoretti

Does anybody know how can I order a custom made Pegoretti? Do I contact them directly and send my measurements or through a dealer?

Dealer is probably your best option. Where do you live?

Mario, the owner of Downtown Bicycles in Fort Lauderdale, just took delivery of a beautiful orange Big Leg Emma Pegoretti. It's really a great bike. I would give him a call and get the details of how he ordered it. 954-761-9920. I think it took four or five months to get it.

I've been interested in these Petoretti's ever since I saw his.

Definitely through the dealer. With the import fee and taxes, you'll have to go through a dealer.

I think the dealer is the only way to go. No other option.

You can go direct too, a few or the serotta forum members know and have delt with Dario personally on customs. Post this question there, you may get a direct email address for him.

I still don't think so. Dario specifically goes through dealers here. You don't want to circumvent the people you do business with to make a few extra bucks. You can call him, but unless you go to Italy and get measured, then go back and pick up the bike, he'll most likely tell you (or actually, his business partner, because that's not what he deals with) to contact the authorized dealer.

Get in touch with these guys: https://www.competitivecyclist.com/za...&PRODUCT.ID=49

They've sold not a few Peg's.

I got my Marcelo through Competitive Cyclist and had a very good experience. I dealt with Brendan Quirk, and he was very helpful.

Not to disparage Competitive Cyclist, but I'd sooner hit up a more local LBS.

Clickhere and see if there's a dealer closer to fit you in person before resorting to internet arrangements.

A Marcelo has made my short list of frames for my next bike, and I'd be measured at BiKyle in Philly for a custom build if I decide to go the Pegoretti route.
