Can a man ride a women specific bike?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can a man ride a women specific bike?

Merit 3 & Revere 3 (women version of merit)

Revere 3 looks just like the Merit 3. Only thing I see much different is the coloring and saddle shape. Can men ride it fine assuming the top tube is correct length for sizing?

Reason I'm asking is the Merit 3 is out of stock, but Revere 3 is and cheaper.

You were asking about a size 44CM in a recent thread and according to a sizing chart both of these start out at bigger sizes. I would thinking buying a bike that's too big from an in stock situation would be a bad idea.

Is there really such a thing as a 44cm bike with 700c wheels?

This bike is shopping for me, I'm a 56cm. The 44cm thread was for my gf.

Diamondback century 2 vs Merit 3

Is it worth an extra $500 for upgraded hydraulic breaks, and ultegra upgrade from 105?

My main bike is a Specialized Amira. I have over 26,000 miles on the frame. I rode it across America west to east in 2015 and am going to ride it across America south to north this year.

I happen to have long legs and short arms for my height, so the fit works for me. I got a really good deal on it, so I couldn't resist. I wouldn't hesitate buying another WSD bike at the right price.

I’ve seen women ride a manbike (wow!), and vice versa. Don’t worry about it.

Did the same on a Dawes Sheila that same year. You probably passed me. ( )

May it go exactly as it should.

Really, it is all about fit. Take the decals off and all you have is tubes and shapes in various materials.

Clint Eastwood wouldn't ride a bike.

Any bike.

I ride/rode a Trek SLR 1500 WSD bike, and my only complaints are the shorter stem and the narrower drop bar. Aside from that I have no complaints aside from the word WSD on the frame haha. I guess if it fits and you like it, then I don't see why not. Btw, changing the stem and the seatpost on the Merit would be an issue because they both have the comfort points of the bike on those two and changing them would be unwise IMO. Good luck.

Yup. When we bought my then 12-year-old a Windsor Tourist in 2012, it came with a 43cm ST.

No. With the corporate discount on the Merit 3, the DB is $1,050 more than the Merit.

corporate discount applies to the DB too, they're sister companies, so the difference still ~$500.

So $500 gets me upgraded ultegra and hydraulic disc. I know 105 is the good enough tier, but I tried out the ultegra today and just feels so much nicer squeezing brake and shifting.
