GP 4000s II "shimmy," the final word.
Yes, I know. Why?
I was the LBS buying a new set of tires and mentioned that the Contis I had shimmied. They told me to bring them in, so I did, and they gave me a new set. I mounted them with some Race 28 tubes and voila! Smooth as silk.
The moral of this tired story: shop at your LBS, I guess. But damn, those 28s blow up big!

I love bikestores to death...but their prices are outrageous relative to online places.

OK, yeah that's more like it. 17x2=$34, I'd be shocked if you could get 2 for that price.

GP4000s were at Ribble. I think theh hypers were at planet x last year.
This isn't a bad deal: Continental GP4000S II Twinpack - Folding Tyres - Ribble Cycles
I paid $5 shipping and had them in less than a week

WesternBikeworks has them for $35/each from time to time; if you call and ask nicely for the sale price, they'll usually honor it. Free shipping on $50+.
I stocked up when they last got 28mm/reflekt in stock.

Everybody I ride w/uses the 4000. I have been checking out different ones and am currently on Roubaix's. Anyone have a solid comparison w/time on both? Not looking for spec's... personal experience!
Thanks and God bless!

I used to use them - they kept getting sidewall cuts and subsequent flats. Gave up on them.
