Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You might want to look at Bryton and Lezyne models, along with those from Garmin, Polar, and Wahoo.

Adding to Athens' list, Suunto watches are compatible with Strava, too. And smart phones.

Might be a much shorter list to ask which ones aren't compatible.

Good point by Seattle Forest about GPS fitness watches, and smart phones. Cyclemeter has been a good app for iOS, and it's on Android now as well. And there's Strava itself on smart phones, along with many other smartphone apps that'll upload to Strava. Some are free with lesser functionality. Cyclemeter, for instance, may not directly upload to Strava without the upgrade from free to elite -- I'm not sure on that.

Yeah, that would probably be limited to the lower cost, non-GPS models like some Cateyes, etc., that measure distance by registering turns of the wheel, and don't have any USB, WiFi or Bluetooth connectivity.

People understand the OP? Aren't all Garmin computers "compatible with Strava"? The 520 is basically made for Strava. Wot am I missing M8?

my lezyne super GPS does it pretty easily and quickly right from my phone. the sync happens via bluetooth and then uses the phones data to connect to strava and upload right away however, its $150.

I have a phone that I have mounted on my road bike but it feels too clunky and today it almost fell off actually due to all the bumps so I wanted to look into getting a small computer device for my road bike.

No. Best <$50 solution is using your cell phone. You might be able to use an old phone with Wifi only.

The Bryton link shows a Bryton Rider 100E GPS Computer @ $53.95. I have no endorsement. I've just read here that some like the Brytons, though I've never seen one myself.

The lowest cost solution if you already have a smart phone is an app like Strava or Cyclemeter and the phone in your pocket. You don't have to have cell phone service; you can do all the downloading and uploading required before and after the ride where WiFi is available. The next tier up would be buying a good mount to put the phone on the handlebar. Then the next tier up in cost is a dedicated bicycle GPS computer. BF opinions are divided on whether the phone or computer is a better choice regardless of cost.

Sounds like you need a better mount, which will cost significantly less than a computer.

Here's what I use
Delta Cycle Phone Mount

I think Cateye makes a computer designed to sit on the bar and talk to your phone that is not so expensive.

Wahoo's RFLKT
is a bike computer designed for use in conjunction with your smartphone. It connects to your smartphone and “reflects” the data from your favourite cycling app, enabling your phone to be safely stowed in your jersey pocket or saddle bag.
. Wahoo's web site doesn't show it among their current products, but it is available elsewhere for around $80.

Maybe you can just record and upload your ride with your phone in your pocket and also have a simple computer on the bike for speed, distance and on the fly average? A 20$ unit is plenty good for that.

As of now I use a $50 phone which is my backup phone and a $16 Nite Ize bike mount. I got mine for under $10. My phone screen is 5" display and it's not going anywhere with the mount. It's a Samsung phone and syncs with Strava. I pulled the trigger on a wahoo ELEMNT Bolt computer today though.
