Any thoughts on Merckx frames?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Any thoughts on Merckx frames?

If I were to consider stripping a current frame of its componentry and rebuilding onto this frame, is this a decent option in the endurance carbon camp for caliper brakes?

I would have bought that bike last year if the price would have been better (105 version was a couple hundred more dollars than my Giant). The frame is light and looks great.

I wonder what size tyre it would fit?
The stated 990gm for frame/fork is not believable so I don't know what the real weight would be.

From what I can tell, it appears the large discounting might be because 2017 models are all with disc brakes now.

I would be moving over campy chorus group and campy wheelset.

I wondered the same. I'm ok if a 25 can safely fit. 990gm does seem optimistic -- maybe for the XS size and I'd be on the other end with an XL.
Also, the downer is the custom seatpost shape supposedly, but if it works it works, I guess.
