New Road Bike Advise ---- TREK
Hey guys
I am currently in the market for a new road bike, specifically the Trek Emonda SLR 9. The local bike shop here in BC Canada told me that all 2017 models are sold out, only 2018 in a size 54 is available for order.
Now I looked online everywhere for the 2018 model and cannot find anything. The salesman told me the 2018s are not out yet on Trek's site but only available for order on the bike shops inventory computer.
Can anyone shed some light on the 2018 Emonda?
Thank you

Contador has been spotted riding the supposed 2018 Emonda which looks mostly identical to the 2017 but with revised drop-outs. It is speculated that this hints at a disc version being available for 2018.

If you go to trekbikes.com (US Site), it says the 54, 56, 58, and 60 are available in the current model year. On the Canadian site, it says ALL sizes are available in the current model year. Are you around a size 54, or do you look like a salesman might think you are a 54? If so, he is just telling you stuff, maybe the new one is going to cost more. If I were you, I'd log into the trek website, and ask someone in chat what's available to order, then have it sent to a different shop.
The most likely change with the next model will be color, and that's it.

Thanks for the advise.
The "2018" bike that the sales man showed me was in a different color than what's shown on trek website right now. The current model on trek site only availables in battleship blue.
The bike the shop showed me was in Matt black with red highlights.
I can't find anything online that matches that color scheme. I want to know if the salesman was just blowing smoke and try to sell me a 2016 model.
Thanks again
