Equivalent of Nashbar/BikesDirect in Europe?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Equivalent of Nashbar/BikesDirect in Europe?

Hi,

I already asked a similar question in the European section but that forum is not popular.

BikesDirect and Nashbar have their detractors but they do sell decent quality bikes cheaply. Does anyone know of an equivalent type supplier in Europe? I'll be moving to France for a few years and the cost of shipping 5+ bikes (we are a family of five) is daunting. It's cheaper to buy there and give them away if we can get good quality bikes.

I think PBK has a house brand, no? Or maybe it's one of the other UK super-sellers. Probably a good place to start.

The B'twin bikes are good. As good as any of the generic Nashbar/BD bikes imo.

for house brand you have wiggle's Verenti and Eastway bikes. Ribble has a wide selection and the best thing is that theyre highly configurable. On mail order there is Rose germany, as Canyon has gone mainstream/upmarket.

Thanks.

Wiggle is the way to go. Bikes are shipped free to france. For $550 I can get a Claris equipped bike which should do me mine.

Thanks again.
